Question pinstriping

Has anybody had their HHR pinstriped ? ( I mean paint not tape) How much does it generaly cost? How much striping did you have done? Any regrets after you did it? I'm interested in your thoughts on this. Thanks

Saw one today. Looked like tape, Dark Silver Metallic with white pinstripe running from hood to tail. Didnt look bad at all. Not for me, but it did look o.k.

I would suggest that you put the tape kind on first. That way you could take it off if you don't like it.
Not to sure about the price. Can't be too much.

I thought about having mine painted on...but decided to go the tape route. That way if I want to change it down the road it can be ripped off and replaced with something new. Here's a close up of mine which is Light Gold Metallic. I paid about $60 to have mind done. You can see other photos in my photo gallery.

It all depends on what you want, and how much you want to pay. A friend of mine does striping, vehicle lettering (fire apparatus a specialty) and other work. He gets darned good money for darned nice work. He will also work with the tape striping. I bought some made by Sharpline Converting. 3 small white stripes. He's going to help with this gratis. He would probably charge between $75.00 - $100.00 for something like this (including materials). So, the decision is up to you. If you go painted, make sure you get someone with great references and some primo examples of work you can check out.

Thanks...I knew I had to do something to break up all that bright orange. I wanted something subtle that didn't take away from the color of the car. The guy who did mine took us to the place he buys all his tape and they let us pick some from the color charts, gave us the rolls and let us go outside and put small pieces on the car until we found what I liked best. I have since seen some other cool striping on HHR's at the dealer where I bought mine that have little bowties in them...so I might change down the road if I see something that really suits my fancy. That's the beauty of the tape...you can change it when you want.

I am practicing again, I have striped all of my life, but have not practiced for about ten years...if the touch isn't gone I will be going out to runs as a vendor if not later this year, definitely next, will be striping my HHR as soon as the touch has returned...Of course members here will see a substancial discount...Suggestion, use tape or a grease pencil, study decide before hand the design you are looking for, check a striping artist named Kafka, he is working in a stlye that I will emulate, but not copy...he also has price ranges for some of his work...He is amazing.
