Question about mud flaps

Gotta go now; it's a sunny day, and I'm somewhat busy sweepin' the clouds away.
My kid is only 6 weeks old and too young to watch TV.

But I still got that reference...does that mean there's no hope for me?

There's alway hope, my friends - the continual churning out of cartoons for every generation will never cease. Anyway, back to the mud flap info..........

I do have a topic based question.

If I get the factory HHR flaps from the dealer, why do I have to drill a hole?

Reason is: the mud flaps have a few holes (3-4) which match up perfectly to the existing holes used to attach the fender lining to the fenders themselves. The additional hole that needs to be drilled is for the very bottom of the mud flap; there is no pre-existing hole for you to use in this spot. It's really easy to do, though.
