Rear Beauty Bar Bowtie removal in process

I have bought a couple of rear beauty bars to work with for this project. I have wanted to remove all "bowties' off my HHR from the very start.

I have the ideas and Mr. Bumpstops makes them happen, in most cases!

For this one, the bowties base and bowtie was removed from bar.
We were advised to not use bondo but since this is a prototype, we figured we would experiment and see how it turns out.

Mr. B cut the top and bottom of the bowtie that protruded on the top and bottom of the bar. He filled in the gaps, filed, sanded, prep for paint and this is where we are for the moment. I'll paint it later this week.

Will be very interested to see how Mr B's handiwork comes out. He's definitely very handy to have around the house.

Look forward to the finished project.

It's almost done. One more wet sanding, repaint, then a shot of clear.
