Rear Wiper Control Delete

Well the rear wiper has been gone for over a year so I thought it was time to remove the control switch. After carefully removing the waterfall from the dash. I then removed the wiper control. While looking at the switch I saw the 3 LED's that light the switch. I used a piece of 1/4" plexiglass I had laying around and using the opening to make a template I ground the plexi into an oval slightly larger than the opening. I then made a black decal with a bowtie cut out of it. I then laid some teal vinyl over the back of it so the bowtie would be teal. I then disassembled the control switch and made room for the plexi to fit in front of the switch. I attached the plexi to the opening and reinstalled the switch. I test fit it all and when I turned on the dash lights I was pretty happy with the look.

When you modify the switch there is no turning back, but since my wiper hole is welded up I was way past that already so the switch was no longer needed.

Cool!

You realize Tim, you've now given us *another* reason to have a mod-party! Looks GREAT!
Can you do that in pink??

See you Saturday!

I use my rear wiper so this is not for me. But I can say nice work on this mod. It looks pretty sharp.

I NEED my rear wiper here in the great white Midwest, but that was a really nice job and well thought out.

Having "station wagons" in the past with no rear wiper, I discovered that in rainy weather or sloppy wet road driving the rear windows get translucent from "mud" from road spray. I like the rear wiper.

The modification that you did after removal of the switch does look good.
