It's not a bad looking HHR. Would I want that large of a sun roof? No, but it made this guy happy. Would I pay that much for the car USED? Hell no! I think that the $15 to 16K range would be pretty reasonable for that car used. Some folks think that they should get full retail out of any up grades that they put into a car after purchase. That just isn't the case.

I'm wit GDZHHR on this one.. that sunroof is badass..

I wouldn't pay 22K for it, though... And it certainly isn't the coolest HHR ever..

This quote got me.....
my wife is having child number two which does not give us much room in this car.
Im guessing she is pregnant with quintuplets.......There has to be more to the story there. Unless she is having Baby Huey the HHR is plenty big for a family of four.

It's like motorcycles. guys put thousands into a bike to make it THEIRS then assume its worth more to others because they like it. Actually ver y few have the same "view" of whats good when it cmes to customizing,

Remember the HHR retro Buick?

The car may be worth $21k to someone who would do the same but finding that someone is the trick.

the "market" has spoken. $15k tops.
Some people put too much money in a car

So true. When I was working at Carmax, we'd have people bring in the shag-nastiest "customs" expecting to get a pile 'o cash added to the value of the car. The worst were the Scions. Great cars, fo' sure, but none of the dealer-added accessories (the kind that tend to get financed at point of sale) added any more value to the car and people were STUCK either being upside down or removing the items entirely.

Aftermarket sunroofs absolutely destroy the value of the car. They become instant wholesale pieces depending on the vehicle and type of roof installed.

I agree, hate to get caught in a good ole mid west hail storm with that. That is one reason I did not get a sunroof in mine.

That's what the shade on the sunroof is for. Take a closer look at the pics. There are two shades that roll out from the middle, one for the front, one for the back.

My Nissan Quest has FIVE sunroofs. One in the front and four small ones in the back. The rear ones have the roll up shades like the HHR in the eBay ad.
