Running Boards

I really wish I had gotten the running boards. At first I thought the car would sit too low with them but they just look so much cooler with them on. And it's better for the paint on the flares apparently. If I'm not up to my eyeballs in debt by then, I'm gonna see if I can burn some of my tax refund for them next year.

When I first decided to start doing mods to my car...this became one of the 1st ones. I liked the look from the get go, but I bought mine off the lot and it didn't come with them. However, once I realized the problems I could have down the road, they went to the top of the list. I wouldn't wait if I were you because you could need a pretty serious paint job if you wait another year. JMHO

Just finished installing mine tonight. Its pretty simple once you get the original cover off of your car. Saved some $$$ as well, dealer wanted $750 installed and I purchased the boards for $512 including shipping.

I would get them now but we're barely making it week to week as it is. I just don't have the money to throw out for them. Tax time is our big relief. We catch up on everything and usually have some money left to play with which is the only reason I am waiting until then. I will probably have to get the fenders repainted as well but there's not much else I can do about it.

I'm in your boat..My dealer offered to repaint for free but the running boards are just to expensive for me right now.I'm sure if start having problems your dealer will repaint yours aswell.Just wait till you can get the boards.Hopefully that is what I will do.

I really doubt my dealer will give a free paintjob. I never even got the coupons for the free oil changes I was promised. I tried to discuss the paint issue the day I picked up the car since I had been reading a lot about it. They just acted like they weren't intersted in hearing it.

According to the Paint Chipping Issue TSB, the dealer has been advised to repaint damaged areas free of charge to the consumer and advise customer to get running boards at their expense. Not sure if there is a time constraint on this though.
