Sanding an SS Spoiler
Sanding an SS Spoiler
I found a Dark Blue SS Spoiler for sale for $96.50 plus shipping. Here's the link: http://www.ahwooga.com/detail.asp?id...rolet-HHR-Blue. I have a 2007 Sport Red HHR, and they don't make SS spoilers in that color to begin with, so I'd have to order a primered one. GM Parts Direct sells them for like $220 or something. So there is a substantial price difference. Do you think I'd be OK to buy the Dark Blue one, sand it down a little, primer it, then paint it Sport Red Metallic to save some money? Do you think it would still look pretty good? Or would I run into problems? Any thoughts?
That should be fine.... if you've never done auto body paint work, maybe an auto body shop could prep and paint it for not to much $$$. Spraying it yourself shouldn't be too bad if you have had some experience though.
I hope you got yours. I signed-up and ordered one last night, website said they had 48 left. Used my pay-pal and the order was accepted. I got an email late this morning stating that they were out of them and that I could order one for the regular price. Oh well! Now I have to get my money refunded.
I hope it works out for you - it was a great deal while it lasted.
