Show us your flames!

Hi all-
Since the HHR is retro, I'm thinking I'm gonna do some flames. I already basically know what I wanna do but I'd love to see what others have done- all in one place. Soooo.... post pics here and show us your flames! Let us know: paint or vinyl? Maybe how much it cost you too if you don't mind.

flames

I have pictures of my hhr with handpainted pinstriped flames, it only costs around $300. If I spray a set of three color flames on a hhr, it would cost (materials and all) about $1000. Here are a few photos of the work I have done.

Victory Red, then 8 coats of House of Kolors metal flake, then 8 coats of clear, 16 hours of airbrush work for the flames, one last coat of clear, about $8,000 total; flames alone were $1200.

Yup!

I was looking for a blend of old school/modern. That's why there is the old school-style pine strip flames, the the realistic flames coming off of them.

Some nice looking flame jobs here. I'm partial to the top one, but I have been since I first saw it.

BTW...we have a thread with a bunch of custom painted HHR's and there are some very nice flame jobsthere as well too.

These are vinyl from Dan's Decals. They were about $60-$70 (I don't remember exactly) and I put them on myself. Wasn't that hard. I personally prefer paint but didn't have the money for them.
