Smoked IPCW tails on "Phoenix"

well, the install only took an hour, including a dinner break halfway through. i was worried how they were going to look after i saw them in the box, as they are a very light smoke, but in the end, i love the look of it! now it's time to debadge the HHR badge and chicklets, and paint the bowties black.

okay, after looking at the pics, i'll try to get some tomorrow if the lighting is better, as well as hpefully get some in my gallery soon of them at night. i gotta say it again though, i was worried how they would look, but they are fantastic! i think they would look great on really any color HHR. they aren't the totally clear giving it that gaudy ricer look (not flaming, just my personal opinion...i'm not one who likes chrome for basically anything), but they aren't real dark either. they call it Platinum Smoke for a reason, it has a platinum, almost pewter color to it.

Wow, those are not tinted much. They look almost like the clear.

they really aren't tinted. what it seems like between the various threads on these tail lights, it seems they all have clear lenses (not sure on red ones) and the only difference is the color of the housing inside. for instance, you can see the color best in the picturebelow in this post, it really is a greyish pewter color, where as the only difference between the smoked and the clear, is the clear is a straight up chrome housing inside, chrome chrome, that's it. mine is the chrome with a darker color to it (kinda like the black chrome grills etc, just not nearly as dark).

^^that is actually the best representation of the color^^

I notice on the new lites the ring on the lower lite is on with the running lites. I checked my stock lites (2007) and there is nothing lit up on the lower set unless the back up is on... is there an adaptor that makes them work in tandem to the upper lites?

No the reds are actually tinted, the lenses are red i dunno about the inside of them, i know they are a very deep red when they are lit.

Yes, there's a connector that goes from the top light to the bottom.
