I ordered mine today. They were $10 each and came one to a package. How do prices vary by dealer?
|
most have a list price but if you ask most will lower it from there
I just asked for a lower price..."come on they're just little plastic things" and he dropped the price Can't hurt to try |
Check Autozone. I saw some black ones in the "HELP" section of the store were they sell general "kinda-stock" stuff. They werent that expensive either.
|
the ones at Autozone (I thought the same thing, even checked Wal-Mart) are longer and have a flat top, you need a short rounded top
I checked just about everyplace then remembered a Ford I had years ago that had almost flush rounded door pulls, the black ones were just a bonus that they had black ones also... |
Yes, the knobs on my Windstar go almost completely into the door. You had to be careful not to pinch your arm if it's up there when the doors lock. Hopefully, they'll fit the same way in the HHR.
I bought a set from an auto parts store and, while the knob is hollowed out, it still doesn't want to screw down very far. They sit higher than the stock knobs did. |
mine sit up also, if you want them to sit flush you'll have to trim some of the rod, they also don't "screw" down, they are press fit with a little RTV (I used a little Gorilla Glue)

hmmmmm
might have to go and "replace" my sisters lock rods with some chrome ones. lol thanks for the info man |

Got mine from there, totally cool. Dude, mine twisted on with no glue and couldnt be any tighter. The old ones came off just by twisting(with a towel and pliers) and didnt break, the new ones twisted right back on. Maybe I got lucky.
