Spring Drops

I have been going back and fourth in my head (Yes that is quiet a wide open span) on changing the springs out to lower my hhr.

I like to do somthing like this but i also need to keep it high enough for normal driving and not getting hung up on a speed bump in the local mall parking lot. (Hey Ladies umm can you get out so i can make it over this bump try lifting on the back bumper.)

Is there diffrent levels of kits? i do want quality but i worry 2 inch will be to low i had 2 inch drop on my chevy cavi and i drug getting out of my driveway

Bag It!

You're only talking an inch and a half with lowering springs as it is(in some cases, barely noticeable). The only way out for you might be an air bag suspension.

I thought the Goldline kit was gonna be to low but Now that I have em installed I'm very happy.I think if I had gone with any other springs I would have wanted to go lower.I have 16" wheels so mine is lower than if it had the 17" wheels and I have no problem with speed bumps or any uneven drives when pulling into a parking lot.You do have to drive slow over the speed bumps but thats a given when you lower your car.The only problems I have heard is from Mike at SoCalhhrs.com dragging is lake pipes a bit over speed bumps but those have to be atleast a couple inches lower than the running boards or the rocker panel..Plus the Goldlines drop it so it sits even.Hope it helps..

There are some pictures on this webpage of HHR's side by side between one that is lowered and one that isn't. As the others mention here, there's not a huge difference when they are lowered. Unless you're planning on entering your HHR in some kind of monster tractor pull, you won't have any problems passing over the usual speed bumps.

You may have to hit a few driveways at a angle but other than that, you wont have problems with the goldline kit

The Gold lines will give you the most level drop, and if you don't go adding dummy lake pipes like I did clearance shouldn't really be an issue. Without the pipes I have somewhere between 5-6" of ground clearance. And even with the lake pipes I've only bumped them a coupla times and not even enough to mar them. My rear mud flaps catch hell though.
