You should have gotten hardware, instructions and a template for drilling holes.

My spoiler I purchased did not come with a template. Thankfully the shop that I had attach it did a great job

Planning on this mod in the next couple of weeks and you are not the first to say that the hatch has no access holes from the backside? Ours has the rubber plugs so we assume this will make the installation much easier! No hardware? Maybe they newest spoilers are just taped on ?

you have to drill 2 holes for it to work and also two access hole in the back of the tail gate, to make a template its a real pita, we used a piece of cardboard lol.

Here's how mine came...

Primered, with 2 outside threaded bolts (no nuts), 3 inside push in clips and 3m tape.
I was originally going to drill all 5 holes but changed my mind and ground off the push in clips and ended up just drilling the two outside holes...

I too made a template out of poster board...

This was one of many 'fittings of the template....

I will forewarn you, once you remove the backing tape and sit the spoiler on your HHR, you ain't moving it. I wanted to 'nudge' mine about a 1/16 of an inch after I placed it down....no figgin' way! My whole HHR was moving as I tried to move it. One thing is for sure, it ain't ever coming off!

I'm still disappointed that the spoiler did not come with a template or nuts for the 2 bolts!

Once I got it installed, I was a little less disappointed!

thanks for the link, looks great.

Did you have the other rear spoiler before?

do you have to drill holes?...seems like that double sided tape might just do the trick

what size of nut did you use and how big did you guys drill out the access holes?

Those rubber plugs on the normal hhr are not where the bolts go to dlvrnit. The SS has four rubber plugs.
