Can you find a way to order directly from Street Scene? That might resolve the problem. Let me know if it does. I love that grille and really want one for my HHR.
I sent a message to Street Scene on their website asking for a pic of one installed on an HHR. Also, I noticed on autoanything.com that there are 4 reviews from customers on the HHR item page. It does say the estimated ship date is July 11 - 16. Makes me think it could become another 5 months like you ran into!

I second that opinion.

I agree in that Street Scene is ricey, but that particular grill would look better with the stock upper grille than the Carriage Works lower grille. However, the upper and lower set from Carriage Works looks great. If you are going to stick with the stock upper grille, I'd probably get the Street Scene lower grille.

Cool air flow

I was talking to my dad tonight, who works as a parts manager at a GM dealer, and we were discussing the need to fill the hole in the lower bumper, which is why I am looking at getting a bumper grille. He said that a lot of air is sucked in through that hole for cooling, and I was wondering if anyone who has installed a lower grille has had any engine cooling/overheating related issues. I am sure that enough air would still pass through, I am assuming it should be no problem.

Grille installed, no heating issues. Temp still at 190 usually.

Our Honda has the same stupid omission on the lower ac condenser area and needs a grille. No one in the Honda Oddity forum has had any issues in the three years they have been combating this design flaw. Yes, the area is used for airflow and yes a grill takes maybe up to 50% of the airflow away. Still no reports of problem on the Odysseys and the HHRs.

I've had the Carriage Works combo on forever (Almost as long as I've owned my HHR) and never had any overheating issues. Mine also runs at about 190.

Thumbs up response from Street Scene...

Here is a copy & paste from an email I received from a gentleman at 'Street Scene' regarding the Valance Grille for sale on autoanything.com. Looks like they shouldn't be allowing people to purchase this thing if it isn't even in existence yet!
Good thing I did a little research first!!!

"AS OF RIGHT NOW FOR THAT GRILLE WE ARE LOOKING FOR A HHR TO GET THAT LOWER VALANCE TO MOLD TO. WE HAVE NOT STARTED ANY MOLDING FOR THIS ITEM YET. SO IF ORDERED YOU WONT RECEIVE A PART FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS TILL MOLD AND CASTING ARE DONE. IF YOU ARE LOCAL AND WOULD LIKE TO LET US USE YOUR CAR FOR MOLD AND CASTING THAT WOULD BE AWESOME"

Where are they located? Do we have any volunteers in that area? If it's close enough, I'd do it myself.

I have Street Scene grille inserts on my 2002 Suburban and also had them on my 94 Suburban. They fit very well and are easy to install on the trucks. I would expect the same for the HHR parts from them. The ones I have are made of stainless steel and have held up great for the last 3 years, which includes Buffalo winters with tons of salt.
