Stubby antenna

I am interested in swapping out the fishing pole on my roof and installing a stubby like SoCalHHR sells but I am curious about reception. Has anyone noticed a decline or has reception stayed about the same. I realize reception will vary for a lot of reasons but just wondering in general terms how users have found them.

Mike (or anyone for that matter) maybe you can comment also on the stubby versus the three size one you also sell. Aside from appearance, any major performance differences?

I have the stubby anyenna and I haven't noticed any difference in reception, but I do live in a metro area with many stong radio stations. Sounds the same to me, looks MUCH better.

i had my stubby on for about a week and was having a terrible time with reception, so i modd'ed the factory antenna to about 3 inches and no reception troubles in the last 4 months.

No problems getting xm at all!

Oh wait....that's the other ugly thing on the roof!

Replaced mine with a chrome stubby and haven't noticed any real change.

I lost a little reception but it didn't bother me because I never listen to the radio.
