What is the best way to take off hhr tail light covers

 

The taillights are all one piece and can only be removed by accessing them through the little compartment inside the rear hatch area on both sides. You will need to remove the foam before the taillights can be removed. Don't recall who originally posted this picture here but it shows the area:
