Tar....

What's best for getting road tar off?
I noticed a couple of spots on the Big Blue while I was washing and waxing. I tried rubbing it out but only succeed in smearing it some. Will alcohol take it off?

My boyfriend details cars for a living and he said they used gasoline on a rag at the dealership. He said kerosene will work as well...just be careful. There is also some stuff called ProSol...that's a tar remover but that's a professional detail supply product. He said the alcohol might work...but you're looking at alot of rubbing depending on how much tar is on there.

PS...make sure you're not smoking a cigarette during this process.

I'll be careful.
I have no intention of going down in flames while cleaning my car.

I'm convinced the HHR is a bug magnet! It gets more bug covered than any vehicle I have ever owned.

Acrysol. Use it for tar, adhesives, and rubber marks. Good stuff!

Try a Corvair. Rear engine, air cooled, so the front is all show, and buggzzz love'em!

Here are the two "grills" on my convertibles:

Sometimes I want to use brillo to get off the goo!
