Thule Roof Rack
I just put a Thule roof rack on my HHR:
Thule 450 Crossroad Feet - discontinued
Thule Square Bar 50" - LB50 - discontinued
Thule 4 pack lock cylinder - 544
2 Sets Yakima TLC Saddles - long discontinued, but best kayak saddle ever made. Has integral tie down straps.
12 Yakima Snap Arounds (Converts Yakima saddles to be used on Thule square bar)
Two Motorcycle Tie Down Loops - mounted on the hinge of the hood nearest to the windshield. Used as an attach point for tying down the bows of the kayaks.
The small hitch is that the low part of the outside saddles is right over the feet, so one can't use the snap arounds (hence the use of 12 instead of 16). On my Suburban, I used 4 long stainless radiator clamps to attach the saddle to the bar. I have not done that yet, but will probably end up doing it.
