Just peel them off. Use a 3M eraser wheels to remove glue residue.

Can I use goo gone and let that set and peel and not ruin the paint?

Use a heat gun[carefully] or leave it out in the sun on a warm day. Gently peel one edge and slowly remove it. Lac. thinner will take off any glue, and will not harm the paint[I'm a custom painter, so trust me on this]. after removal, wax area good.
It proably has'nr been on there long enough to cause any problems. Three, four years, it might be a little tough to get off, but one two years, no problem. "Moon"

3M eraser wheel on a drill will not hurt the paint. It's just what ie says it is, a big eraser. You can find them at some auto parts stores, and at stores that specialize in automotive paints/supplies. I'd trust it over any chemical to put on the paint. Heat gun also works, just be very careful......

I'm saying I wouldn't try it. Someone that does this for a living has better knowledge and experience, sure. For me in my garage, I'll play it safe.

I don't want to be the one that finds out the answer is no......lol

I used Goo Gone to remove the glue residue, after removing my badges. Didn't hurt the paint at all.
