Tire paint?

Anyone used white wall tire paint to turn black-wall tires into wide-white-wall? How did it look? Hard to do?

Paint is not how that happens unless you never plan to drive the vehicle. Sidewalls flex and paint would crack right off.

Use it about 45 yrs ago on old white walls and as I recall, it wasn't all that good. I'm sure todays products are better. Use to be able to just buy White Wall rings that were held in place by the rim bead, wonder if they still make those!

Those rings would flop out and looked like crap almost immediately.

Cool Dupli-Color Hot Tires

I found this stuff online, from a trusted brand and seems like it would be cool for touching up white walls or painting colored letters on the tires...anyone used this stuff?

I tried that stuff just to see how it would look...did a couple letters and it looked like crap, so I took it off.

I know Mike aka GDZHHR did some on his tires when he first got Bob. Took the car to Bristol Motor Speedway to drive around the track and some of it came off while running the high-banked track. Let me see if I can find that thread and link to it here.

there are a few companies that still make white wall tires... also there are a few that will take our tires and gring out a white wall spot and then make them white walls... a few people over at the thunderbird nest site did that... go there and just search whitewalls... might be a few threads but you should find tons of infromation www.thunderbirdnest.com
