Tires

Does anyone know anything about the Falken ZE-512 Tires?

I'm looking at thinking of ordering a set of these if I can get the Wheels that I want.. as I've found someone offering these tires pretty cheap with free shipping.

I'm thinking about getting the RIAX Fontana in Gunmetal, 17" wheel...and getting those tires in a 215/50-17 size.. of course, only if I can find someone who can get the wheels; as I've found this past week that the Fontana is quickly selling out in the 5x110 bolt pattern... local tire/wheel shop near me said they have a 4 - 6 week back order on them!

Anyway, anyone know anything about Falken Tires... and what other 17" tires are others using... and is 215/50-17 a good size if I am not planning to lower my car?

They are decent for the price. I am running those on my Foose wheels. (5x110 34mm offset 18x8.5 235/40R18)

Overall, happy with the tires! and I am still at stock height without problems.

How has your tread wear been on them?

I think that one of the best tires for the money is the Falken ZE-512.I had a set on my Stratus R/T that was traded towards my HHR.I was very pleased with the performance and treadwear.I had about 30K on them when traded and they looked like they might go about another 20K.When I wear out the crap Firestones that came on my HHR,I will probably go with a set of either Michelin Aquatreds or Goodyear Assurance TripleTreds because of the much greater mileage I expect from these more expensive models. But the Falken is a good 40K-50K tire.HB

I have put about 15K on them now, and so far, I would expect at least another 30K. As HB mentioned, it is typical a 40K-50K tire. But based on my driving habits might get less!
