My '08 has the mirrors,door handles and rear emlem area on the hatch painted the same color as the body.Is this a upgrade or a down grade from other HHR's that have chrome on these areas?

 

It's not really a downgrade.... It replaced the satin (brushed) chrome used on previous years. I believe they changed it to painted for the 2008 model year. So it's the equivalent of the satin, which they do not make anymore. (Other than the grille.) Which is a shame, since I liked that better...

 

I wish my grille would have been painted the body color,but its silver.May get a billet one

 

Actually, the painted mirrors is an "upgrade"......standard on LTs. Just black plastic on the LSs. As for the rest, the painted pieces are standard.

 

Yes, that is true.

Although in my opinion, I still like the satin chrome better...so I think it's a downgrade!!!

 

I pass a HHR the other day on my way to school, and it had mirrors, door handles and rear bueaty bar all painted body color, but had a chrome grill on it, not the satin grill. looked pretty sharp.

 

The painted mirrors and door handles is one of the things I liked most about the 08s and it was just less painting for me to do.

 

After i worked the deal on my hhr I told them i'd take it for that price if they'd tint the front windows & paint the grill black to match the body. they did at no extra cost & it looks great
