(Un) Accessories - Interior

Moving to the (un) interior.

Storage space/Console. There needs to be some type of storage replacement part for the console area. One that incorporates a better cup holder layout would be nice. How about removing those armrests (with a cover piece to match your interior to go in the opening) and making some kind of storage/armrest that you could rest your elbow/arm on?

Overhead storage. It's a nice place to keep your garage remote, etc.

Dash overlays. I know the "woodgrain" is popular, but I'd either like to see chrome (again) or something color keyed to the outside car color(really looks nice on the SSR). These pieces could be carried out in a theme throughout the interior, both front and back areas of the interior.

Floor mats. Where in the world did my driver side "PREMIUM" floor mat come from. Was the guy making these on acid?

My dad smokes. Sorry guys but I need an ashtray in back.

Headrests. Something with HHR colored embroidery would be nice. I also like headrests that are donut shaped.

Shifter selection. GM, if you're hearing this, you need to put the gear selection info somehere on the dash instrument cluster where I can read it.

Instrument Cluster. Why wasn't the turn signals and bright headlamp indicator put inside the oblong display at the bottom of the IC? They stick out like sore thumbs on the dispaly panel where they are. It would just look cleaner.

Whay else, ya'll?

I can't complain much about the interior. I actualy like it alot.

Billet buttons and switches (mentioned in previous post)
Billet door sill plates (also mentioned in previous post)
Two tone leather/suede seats with HHR emboidery
Audio system (premium Pioneer isn't the worst but far from the best)
DVD video system with video game to amuse the kids
A beter Chevy bowtie for the inside of the back gate

The dash overlays are already available in a polished aluminum or paintable. I had also thought about just getting the stock trim bezel for the center stack professionally painted.

Well, since the ashtray goes into the cupholder, put it in the rear one, then.

That's already being done too. I saw at least one company on eBay that you can ship your headrests to to get them embroidered.

But they are not really embroidering your headrests. They are just sewing on a HHR patch. I could cut my own fake suede letters and sew them on. I want actual embroidery.

My biggest complaint about the interior has to be the location of the window switches. GM should have put more thought into that decision.

I do not understand for the 2LT why they did not leather wrap the parking break. It makes sense. Afterall they did the shifter and the wheel.

Behind the shifter so I dont have to break my wrist to put them up or down while in park. That would be my first choice, or in the normal place on most cars on the doors.

Yeah but then you would have to remove the peice that is in, then convert the try in front of the shifter into a place to put your cups.
