Unidentified Flying Object = Body Work

I was struck by a flying piece of something on the interstate last week. Left a nice "gash" style dent and deep paint scrape on the passenger side of the hood, and then ricocheted off and caught the top of the right rear door. So it's going in for body work next Monday. I'm taking advantage of this opportunity: I bought the rear spoiler for it and the body shop is going to paint and install it for me while it's there for only $50! Not too bad!

I like the standard spoiler, so that's what I'm putting on. The HHR went in to the body shop today to get the repairs started. Total estimate is at $889. Insurance company is paying for some extra paint and some extra labor to prep and paint a larger area to make sure that the color blends well. They're concerned about my Golden Teal Metallic. "It's an odd color" as the insurance adjuster said ...

Sorry to hear about that, but glad that it won't cost you much. That's also very nice of them to be concerned about matching the color. I wouldn't think most places would care!

It's fixed!

Got the buggy back this morning and am very happy with the repair. I cannot see anything in the paint or the body that even hints at where the damage was. I'm impressed! If you're in the middle TN area and need a body shop, I whole heartedly recommend Auto Art in Smyrna.

AND ... they painted and installed my rear spoiler for only $76.23! Can't beat that for a deal ...Name: photo-1.jpg

Oh ... ignore the rusted tail pipe ... all the snow and salt and brine that we've had in the last three months have done a real number on it. Going to replace it with a nicer stainless steel tip.

I was just going to ask about that, then I saw your post underneath!

I'm assuming that isn't the original...that looks a little longer?

Oh, and I'm jealous...you're at a Super Target!! I love those!!! We only have one, and it's 40 miles away and it's only a half Super Target...
