Cool where to put under body neons?

I got a hhr with the running boards and want to put the street glow l.e.d. underbody kit on but the running board brackets get in the way if i put them on the frame. thinking about drilling hole in bottom of running board to zip to them but brace and support for the boards is in the way. If anyone has done it or has a better idea let me know.

I wanted to do some type of neon too. This is what I ordered. Haven't gotten it yet so can't say how easy it may or may not be.

hope this helps

The set up I had on my old Geo was to use a reflector to mount them to. Most neon kits will come with a mounting piece, it should look like a C-collar with a screw hole, if yours did not, you can get zip ties that have screw holes in the end.

the reflector was what made the neon set work so well on mine, It was a piece of angle aluminum, that was very thin. 90 degree bend. The outside of the bend should be painted black, the inside either white or a reflective color. This will throw the glow back under the vechile and keep you from getting the bulb lines under the body.

This picture is with two 4 foot tubes and two 3 foot tubes on a 9000 volt transformer.

I eventually added four more one foot tubes, one over each wheel. Those four were on a 6000 volt transformer. On the inside I had an additional four 1 foot tube kit under each side of the dash board and under each seat all on an additional 6000 volt tranformer, then I had the neon gear shift knob mounted in the glove box on a 75volt transofrmer and 2 tag frames in the back on top of the speaker box each with a 1000 volt transformer.

This geo took best of show at every neon show I entered. The keys to a good neon are...
1. Dont let your tubes show,
2. plenty of voltage
3. lots of reflective materials.

I installed the underbody kit couple weeks ago. I wedged the 48 inch side l.e.d.s between the bracket and bottom of running board and zip tied them to brackets with the back and front one i zip tied them to the body kit bracket. The l.e.d.s fit nicely and the tubes dont show. Pics are on my profile.

How about the back tube. The couple of times I looked under there I haven't found a good spot. I have only looked a couple of times real quick and gave up.

I see neons on classic show cars also. It's not strictly an import thing? Americans started putting neons on their cars first I believe.

Captain, I am mounting my front and rear neons this weekend, I will let you know what I figure out on the back...I have to buy new sides as my originals were broken. It is a kit that I bought for my son's '52 and he decided not to use them. I am going to mount my driving lights this weekend too and I found some sweet switches that accent the interior...yippeeeee!!! Having said all of that my wife will likely have me packing for the move to the new house all stinking weekend!!!

Awesome. Everytime I go out to put my kit on I end up giving up or doing something else. I was going to put them on last weekend but it was too hot for me to leave the A/C and go outside.
