Willmore Stainless Steel Door Sills

Guys,

I just received from Auto Truck Toys the Willmore Stainless Steel Door Sills for the HHR, Stock Code: WIL830664.

They are a stainless metal cut in a "L" configuration for the front and rear doors. I installed the Front ones, and when I went to installe the rears, I see the angle going down towards the rubber in the door go over the rubber about 1/4 inch. I called Auto Truck Toys, and they say the Manufacture has not had any problems. I need about 1/4 inch cut off from the button so it sticks only on metal, and not the rubber gasket of my doors.

Anyone have any idea's?
I really don't want to yank the ones on the front off they are solid 3M tape, not strips on the corners.

Anyone here have the ability to cleanly cut these for me?

Thanks,
Keith

Sounds like a design issue to me.

Follow Up...

I called Oscar at the Manufacturer...
He is going to let me send the rear sills back and they will cut them down to the size I need. I also sent them pictures so they could see that they are off. I would post the pictures here, but I don't see a way to do that on the screen I am typing on?

Thanks,
Keith

Once you click on POST REPLY, you will see icons - choose the one that looks like a yellow scene of mountain and sun - it pops up a window that lets you post a link to a small jpg from a site like photobucket.

I would like to see a photo if you manage.

View of installed Front stainless sill plates.

View of Rear Sill plates with marking on where it needs to be cut to match the fronts. Oscar over at Willmore is going to cut them for me, and send them back.

Thumbs up door sill plate kit...

My wonderful wife got me the HHR door sill plate kit from gmpartsdirect.com for my birthday, although they are late in arriving...
I'll post pics after I get them installed. Should dress up the door opening nicely.
