2010 HHR needs In-Dash Nav/DVD/Bluetooth

Hi Guys,

This is my first post here as I have just purchased my 2nd HHR and want to start doing some upgrades starting with the head unit.

Can anyone recommend a decent unit that won't break the bank?

Also, if there are any other items besides speakers that I can add to the interior audio/visual experience please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

Gets decent reviews and I think someone on the forum installed on like this.

After reading about an E-bay "el-cheapo" nav radio install here on the forum, I decided to give it a go as well. I installed it in a Ford Expedition. This thing is very cool. Built in navi, built in blue tooth, DVD, etc.... and cheap, too.

Here is the link to the install that pgt400 did in the HHR....so you can see.

I just had installed a Sony xnv770bt and Sony rearview cam in an '09. Price on both was
around $850. You will have to buy an interface to overcome the 11 bit lan on these cars.
I used the Axxess gmos-lan04 (about $110). The Sony unit uses Tom Tom for navigation.
One free map update is provided with the unit but I think down the road that Tom Tom will be offering lifetime updates for a price. So far I'm very happy with the unit. The bluetooth is excellent (one of the main reasons I bought it). I think with those Chinese units the mic is built into the face plate so the sound is questionable.

I bought one of these units for my Ranger and was more than pleased!

GPS duty goes to my Droid so I've not tried that option with an indash.
