Aftermarket navigation in your HHR?
i am waiting a few more months to get my Kenwood DNX7100, since i get hefty discount on it, but hands down the DNX7100 is better than the pioneers. it has the same harddrive based navi which takes all of 5-10 minutes to figure out. it is easy as pie to bypass so u can watch while driving. the bluetooth is flawless, rearview camera is flawless as well, and the ipod control is 100 times better than the Pioneer Z1 or Z2...we install the DNX7100 more than the Z2's for the same price. we do Kenwoods at a 5:1 ratio.
The hard drive in the kenwood is only for the nav i think it is 2g pioneers has 30g 10 for nav and 20 for whatever i have about 100 cd's stored in my radio no need for the ipod interface. Mine has the bypass and after Sept all Z2 will be able to be bypassed new firmware. The pioneer can be controlled by your voice and it learns you driving habits and live traffic on your nav screen in Cali great My friend owns the A&E in HB so my discount is bigger than yours
and the pioneer units sell out here at at 20 to 1 ratio. The Z2 sales slowed because of the bypass and pioneer heard the consumer and is making the firmware change as we speak. I have used both but like the pioneer better it does cost more but you get more.

nav system? what happened to reading maps????
no wonder alot of kids in tx cant read or label or interpret maps correctly!!!!
if you need directions, use randmcnally online at least, or googlemaps, and get directions!!!!
hmm $400 + for a nav system when a map costs $5?
heh just my opinion...plus its fun to get lost sometimes, you get to see some crap youll never see anyways... unless you end up like chevy chase did

installed a GPS in my HHR
I installed a GPS in the top dash cubby, I drilled one small hole for the power wire, and used velcro on the back of the unit and the back wall of the cubby. I can still remove the unit to use in other cars or program it on my computer and also I can close the lid of the cubby when I park it so nobod knows it is there.
I will post a pic in my gallery of the installation.
