Aftermarket radio help!!!!!

I am trying to install a panasonic cd player in my 2006 hhr. Noone seems to have a wiring harness to plug into the factory plug. How are you guys putting new radios into the hhr? Just hard wiring it? any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum!

Two comapnies are now making harnesses, Metra and Soundgate.

If you use Metra as a search term here you'll find all the info ya need!

not everything but it will allow you to keep all of the chimes and such.

If I'm not mistaken you will also need an adapter for the antenna. I assume you already have the dask kit.

There are a couple of thread that people have done ste-by-steps, you might want to check them out before I give you wrong info.

Yea that Metra harness is like $125 bucks..id rather hardwire and lose the chimes..or grab that harness off ebay and rewire it for $10 bucks so you dont have to cut the stock wiring..

I guess I will take your advice and try to find it on ebay!! Do you mean to find the GMOS LAN 3 on ebay??? or is there another wiring harness that is close to what i need but can rewire?

I just want to listen to my system already, I had no idea what i was getting myself into when I decided to put my after market cd player in! I bought the kit of off ebay...it stated it was for an equinox, but fits like a glove!!! So other than the GMOS LAN 3 all i need is the antenna adaptor???

Sounds right to me. If you can find the harness on ebay great! I think giant may be referring to one you'd have to mod to work.

But like my sig says, I'm often wrong!
