Amplifier Instal

I have a 2009 with a base factory radio and no onstar. Basic system standard six speakers. My question is do I a special adapter to install a 4 channel amplifier.

If you install an amp, you will only lose the door chimes that remind you to take out the key or manually turn the lights off. This happens because the system would only be powered with the key turned on.
