Is it the antenna that sucks?

The radio HU supplies the power. The same wire is used for the optional sub-woofer/amp. On other cars it extends the antenna.

Thanks. So no need to worry about a fuse, as long as the radio turns on.

Huh. The speaker amp would use a LOT more power that an antenna amp. Or is it just a signal or powering a relay something, right?

Today yesterday I found the antenna loose. Again. Used a little extra effort to tighten it, then had to rush off before trying it.

I've had an aftermarket "stubby" on my 08, since about '09 & still using it.. Reception is fine for mine out in the hayfields etc..
