Anyone good with sub box design?

Building a 3.0 cubic foot box for a vvme rd-12

Simple sub/port back with flush mount and tuned to 25-28 hz

Have a sheet of 3/4" mdf and all the tools to build it

How do you know what dimensions to cut everything??

1x1x3 equals 3.0 cubic feet.

Or .5x1.5x3 same thing.

Can the factory sub box not be removed, insulated better, and have a better driver put in it? If so, then instead of making a box from scratch, pick up a factory enclosure at the auto wrecker.
