Backup Camera - anyone installed this model on their HHR?

Hi All,

I am getting ready to purchase and install a backup camera for my 2009 HHR SS.

I found this camera on ebay that says it's designed and fits in HHR. Has anyone purchased this camera and installed on your own HHR? from the looks of it, the camera will be replacing the right license plate light. (to the right of the door handle open switch).

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CCD-SONY-Car..._Video&vxp=mtr

Not sure if this is best option or anyone else has a recommended camera I should look at. Feedback is much appreciated. Thanks all.

Interesting, but I assume it will be horrible in low light conditions.

everyone cheap camera I have used (3 total) looks identical to factory and has terrific resolution during the day but NEVER has the night vision like a factory camera does.

This one won't fit where it should. I have one just like it and it won't fit by the license plate. Going to mount mine under the CHMSL on the inside of the hatch so it can look out the back window.

thanks all for the replies. I'll look elsewhere then. License plate camera looks like a good option.

I popped open the lift gate's panel see underneath. I just realized that there is no rear light in there. So I assume that I'll have to run a wire from the tail light's reverse light to the camera. Sounds fun...

I put my camera under the tailgate handle and the monitor close to the mirror, see the pics.

that looks great sta.mustang.

I'll be going shopping this weekend and see which I can find. Either license plate or mount camera somewhere. I'm leaning toward license plate camera like the XO Vision LP131S

DO NOT BUY IT!! I bought it last year and it won't fit. i ended up buying one that you have to drill a hole in the "Beauty Bar" to mount it. It works very well and wasn't too expensive.
