Bluetooth

I just got 09 Panel and when trying to pair my IPhone X the Bluetooth. I get a I pardon. like it cant hear me, but if I say dial it asks for the number . What do I need to do ??

donbrew 12-04-2018 02:56 PM

Speak the number?

Have you read the directions in the Owner Manual starting on page 3-82? Available via the link in my sig.

MikeG. 12-04-2018 05:28 PM

Yes I have !1 but onstar is not turned on so maybe that's why ??

donbrew 12-04-2018 06:27 PM

Look again. I think you are confusing "hands free dialing" and bluetooth.

Hands free dialing is part of OnStar telephone service starting on page 2-47. You can push the OnStar button and talk to customer service with no account.

I'm pretty sure that while bluetooth is in the OnStar box it does not need activating. Bluetooth is phone only/no audio profile. Not all phones are compatible, seem to recall it doesn't like Apples.

MikeG. 12-05-2018 05:41 AM

It acts like it does not hear me say "Bluetooth", but if I say dial it does hear me ??

firemangeorge 12-05-2018 06:55 AM

I've paired up several phones with my car..........no problems. Just make sure the Bluetooth function is not turned off on your phone before trying. (yeah. Had that happen during one pairing)

MikeG. 12-05-2018 07:58 AM

I have a iPhone X

MikeG. 12-05-2018 08:13 AM

It can't hear me

so my phone is iPhone X and when I try to pair it with my car and when it asks and I say Bluetooth it CAN'T hear me !!!! . But if I say dial it asks for the number I want

Oldblue 12-05-2018 08:33 AM

It seems as the Bluetooth generation in your IPhone X is not compatible with the generation in you 09,

MikeG. 12-05-2018 09:21 AM

Look even before that when the system say how an I help you and I say Bluetooth it acts like it can't hear me. It does not know yet what my phone is. I have not gotten to paring part.

MikeG. 12-05-2018 09:23 AM

even before the system knows what my phone is. I press the button and it asks how and I say BLUETOOTH. That's before paring etc. It acts like IT CAN'T HEAR ME

firemangeorge 12-05-2018 09:33 AM

These are the 1st 3 steps. If you're not hearing the system say "READY", then you have not done step 1 correctly.

1. Press and hold - and - for two seconds. The system responds with “Ready” followed by a tone.(that's the PUSH-TO-TALK button)
2. Say “Bluetooth”. The system responds with “Bluetooth ready” followed by a tone.
3. Say “Pair”. The system responds with instructions and a four digit PIN number. The PIN number will

(sorry but copy/paste didn't translate the 2 buttons listed in step 1)

If the Firemangeorge post above doesn't help, you are best to contact a GM Connection Centre Specialist at 1.877.558.8352 (as per https://my.gm.ca/chevrolet/en/learnAbout/bluetooth)

MikeG. 12-05-2018 11:44 AM

so I do this part :
Press and hold - and - for two seconds. The system responds with “Ready” followed by a tone
I then say BLUETOOTH and it does not hear me

whopper 12-05-2018 12:44 PM

Then you are best to contact a GM Connection Centre Specialist at 1.877.558.8352 - it has nothing to do with your phone of course as it isn't getting to the pairing stage.

Are you sure you actually have bluetooth? I believe it is listed on your RPO codes in the glovebox as: UPF - Wireless Interface - Short Range, Voice Recorder

MikeG. 12-06-2018 08:04 AM

The voice says PARDON when I say BLUETOOTH

According to this https://www.traverseforum.com/34-aud...th-set-up.html you probably don't have bluetooth. That is OnStar asking "what do you mean by that, not in my inventory".

When I went to the gm site it said 2009 didn't have it. But that was a confusing experience!

We know - you have told us the same thing 3 or 4 times now. We get it. But you have to read what we have posted to try and help you out, and when we ask questions to clarify something, we expect an answer.
At this point you need to verify if you actually do have bluetooth as detailed previously, and/or call GM as suggested previously. We can't help you any further on this.
