Speak the number?

Have you read the directions in the Owner Manual starting on page 3-82? Available via the link in my sig.

Look again. I think you are confusing "hands free dialing" and bluetooth.

Hands free dialing is part of OnStar telephone service starting on page 2-47. You can push the OnStar button and talk to customer service with no account.

I'm pretty sure that while bluetooth is in the OnStar box it does not need activating. Bluetooth is phone only/no audio profile. Not all phones are compatible, seem to recall it doesn't like Apples.

I've paired up several phones with my car..........no problems. Just make sure the Bluetooth function is not turned off on your phone before trying. (yeah. Had that happen during one pairing)

It seems as the Bluetooth generation in your IPhone X is not compatible with the generation in you 09,

Look even before that when the system say how an I help you and I say Bluetooth it acts like it can't hear me. It does not know yet what my phone is. I have not gotten to paring part.
