cb radio

I was wondering how much room was under the coin tray under all the controls for the radio. It'd be neat to take that out and mount a cb radio tilted up a little bit right there. btw is there anyway to get a good signal without having a 20foot antenna bc theres no way im gonna do that lol. ive just been using a handheld lately.

I don't know how much room is under the console but you can use one of these to turn your radio antenna into a CB antenna CB secret antenna . I don't know how well they work because I have never personaly used one. Keeping a look out for the cops eh?

IMO I don't think it would work that well, but I'm not an expert on CB reception so it could work great for all I know.

I was lurking through these old posts & if you want the best antenna on the market for a mobile unit,....get a Wilson 1000 magnetic mount ant. I've run these things for years and nothing beats them! They all so have a 500 & the "Little Will". Go to their website & look around. Cost of the 1000 is around 80 bucks.

dual anttenas are more trouble than they are worth. you have to get the swr's right on both of them not worth it in a car. Best thing to do is use a metal whip on the back bumper about 5ft IMO.

I gave up on the cb because it was just about worthless during the day due to the illegal skip shooters shouting out to each other. Which back in the day made it useless for emergencies...oh well now we have cellular....
