could this work in an HHR? is the "shape" of the box similar or can it be worked to fit in there?
anyone do this to their HHR?

 

I suppose it would work but it is shaped differently....at least it is in my buddies 06 ss/sc. it actually has a small enclosured compare to being built in like ours. if I remember correctly

It could be....I just knew it looked a bit different. I would assume with it being a factory option, that it can't be all that different if its the same pioneers parts...

I have never taken it apart, I started to once, but you have to remove a lot of plastic to get at it.

I found this:

its out of an HHR on the forum somewhere. they do look similar in shape. The Cobalt pioneer enclosure looked to big from what I remember, to fit in the wall where the HHRs' is.

 

The cobalt one is a 10" I believe but the shape does look close. You could try it but you could also fit a better 8 or adapt the factory box to a 10. That is if you have one in your car already. Also I believe their amp is more powerfull then ours. But that is just from what i noticed on the net while looking for more info on ours.
