Does This Sound Crazy?

I went to a dealer to ask about parts to install radio buttons on the steering wheel of my 2011 LS ie) the harness, the buttons and the cover. The guy looks up the parts and then says that he does not know if it will work because the radio may not be able to be controlled from the wheel. Does that make sense? Also, I was looking at gm parts direct and only see one harness there. Is there more than one? I have a the RPO of US8 am/fm, cd and aux input.

Thanks in advance

Im sure it will work. there was a harness change but all you have to do is swap two wires in the conector. there is a few posts on here on this install just do a search and they should come up.

I put them into my 2009 HHR and the harness does not need to be modified at all and it works great very plug and play.

BTW the parts guys usually know WAY less than someone who has researched it on this board.

also try a junk yard for the parts.

Here are the part numbers I used to add the Steering Wheel Radio controls to my 2009 HHR LS.

Switch 25862239 $26.46 “Raised Buttons” match the cruise control buttons

Harness 25816515 $10.81 “Correctly" configured, no pins to move

Cover 25812392 $19.39 “Switch cover”

this number is the charcoal switch cover if you need the silver one you will have to look that up.
