Crutchfield also says the Eclipse AVN5435 will not fit. Car Toys got it to fit my HHR just fine.

I was browsing crutchfield for the eclipse AVN5435 or 6600 and they said it would'nt fit, but my local shop said they can do it with no problems just have to order seperate parts to keep my steering wheel controls and door chimes.

Yeah, you guys have to understand that Crutchfield isn't "up to date" about all the new fit kits yet. That why we sell the HHR fit kit on our site. I called Crutchfield as soon as I bought my HHR and they told me it would be 6 or 7 months before a kit is out. All that did was get me right on the phone to Scosche (who already had a tricked out HHR ate SEMA with a prototype dash kit in it!). After a few phone calls & emails, I convinced tham to get on the ball and get that kit done! The rest is history - you can buy it on our site now if you need one.

I'm not trying to get rich here (I'm SURE not gonna get there selling a few dash kits!), I just want to get some decent aftermarket parts made for HHR owners so we don't have to sit around twiddling our thumbs for a year or two...

Sometimes it happens fast...other times it's like pulling teeth!

Once I get the money out I'm gonna go ahead and get the kenwood unit I like. And if it doesnt fit I'll take a dremel to my car and make it fit.

Before you Dremel it, run down to Best Buy or Circuit City and ask them how tough they think it would be.
I'll bet they have a 2DIN mounting trim that will fit right in there...

Metra's had the kit out for the HHR before the car existed...

All you have to do is dremel out the kit to fit a double din...
