Looks like you already found the thread, which addresses this POP issue.

Mine is going in tomorrow to get re-flashed/re-programmed/re-calibrated, whatever they want to call it. And I gave the service folks the TSB#, and they said no problem.

That is your Speed Compensate Volume function working. This works like a compressor, meaning as your speed decreases, the volume of the radio will compress or will go down automatically. This works very well, if you tend to drive with the windows rolled down a little. Hence, when you drive faster, the external noise increase, thus, the radio volume gets louder to compensate for the outside noise.

You can disable this, or change to a softer setting. Hit the Menu button, and select the Auto Volume tab. Here you will have the ability for OFF, Low, Mid, High.

Obviously, OFF will disable the function and the volume will remain at the level you set it. High will have the greatest change in volume vs speed.

Once you understand the functions and levels, you will like it. Of course, it does depend on your driving style and environment.

I personnally have it set for the Mid level.

BTW, I have the premium sound system also. I really do not know about the other systems. But if you go to the Menu items, and you see the Auto Volume tab, then you should have it.

Guess I have two problems. Try this.......while driving down the road, turn the auto sound off, the volume should go down.... well mine doesn't change that I can tell at all. Also, like I've said before, the rear sound is very low, remember it has 2 more speakers in the back next to the hatch too. I understand that the backseat speakers are down very low in the doors behind the front seats, but with the amplifier, it should have some sort of a kick to it, shouldnt it? Just wondering if anyone else noticed this. My Astro and Impala have speed controlled volume also, and if you turn it down while driving, I can tell. Also, while attempting to search for stations and program the stations, the Radio won't let you do some things. It has a message that says vehicle must be parked to perform this. Who likes a smarter than me Radio?

Does the volume go down, when you finally slow down?

Are these 2 speakers you mention, aftermarket, that you installed?
I thought the most it comes with is 7 speakers (2 tweeter on piller, 2 speaker mounted on front doors, 2 speakers mounted on back doors, and the 1 subwoofer near the hatch)
