Factory remote wire?

I did a search and didn't immediately find anything. I'm wondering what those of you with the pioneer sound system used as a remote lead for your aftermarket amps.

I tied into a pink wire running to the stock amp, it gave me a 12v signal, but since it's databus (or GMLAN?) it's not quite as precise as an ignition wire. I haven't had any problems thus far though - unless you consider my amp staying on ~10 seconds after my car is off (and after I've got out and locked the doors), a problem.

All I've installed so far is my 10" from my Dakota:
Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1D in a .6cu/ft sealed box powered by an Alpine MRP-M350 @ 2 ohms.

I'm also wondering if it's worth it to buy a signal processor. This amp accepts speaker level inputs, so I'm currently using those and it sounds acceptable.
