Question Factory sub

Can anybody tell me what Chevy considers their premium vs standard sound system (beyond the obvious)? Or is it the obvious ooh they used Pioneer sub/speakers!

Next question, Can the oem / pioneer sub be added without too much difficulty i.e. is the wiring there for it in the 1LT package? I read Chevy's lil tid bits from their HHR info but all it told me was the LS was required to have the AM/FM/XM stereo... that didn't help me in my question though, but on flip side told me that I wasn't required to have the XM model stereo. I presume you can see why I'm confused.

Thanks
Neil

Thumbs down

OK Some of you are probably going to say this is in the wrong section. Sorry for that. After a couple hours my questions have somewhat been answered. No wiring - if not premium - got that. Kind of reminiscent of "Ford A Better Idea" NOT! I have done a lot of electronics/wiring over the past 20 years but this wont be any worse than most.

So, have any of you folks done an add in without any difficulties / extra noises etc? How about OEM wiring harnesses? Surely someplace in this vehicle there must be a point of direct connect to add in a factory harness to do what several of us have asked to be able to do.

My hope was to make a quick & easy plug-n-play but I don't for see it happening... unless I dig into this some weekend to answer my own question... The wife will be concerned when she finds her interior sitting on the garage floor.
