fiberglass vs wood

I am going to start working on my system and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on fiberglass boxes vs just a standard box. I think I could do the fiberglass box myself. I'm gonna try and put 2 jl w3v3 (arent out yet) one where the factory goes and one on the other side.

I think you should go out and pull off your panels and look at how much room there is before you plan anything. Get you dimentions first and see how much room you have to work with before you try deciding materials. I think you are going to find that you don't have enough room under the passenger side panel but that's just a guess because I haven't pulled that side off yet. I think you'll find that you are probably going to have to use fiberglass.

the w3v3 isn't very deep. If I take it apart tonight I'll take pics.

Mounting depth on a w3v2 is 4.31 inches and

* Sealed Enclosure Range: 0.30-0.50 cu.ft. (8.5-14.0 liters)

I'm not even thinking about the size of the sub I'm thinking about the size of the box.

Here's a link to a forum for audio/video fabrication. There are quite a few professional fabricators on the forum there. I received some helpful hints from them when I made a center console a few years ago. I'm not sure how to make it an active link on this forum.

Well, I see it automatically posted as an active link. That answers my question on how to make it an active link!
