Finally

I am through procrastinating. I finally hooked up my amp and wasn't happy with the way the Audiobahn 8" was hitting in the factory box so I built a new box. I left the 8" in the side so I can have a little bump when I need room in the back of my HHR and can't bring my box, I just have to swap wires. I built a single 12" sealed down firing box. The speaker wouldn't have been my first choice but it was a fathers day gift from my mom so it was free there for I can't complain. Anyways here is the box:

I built a rack for the amp a while back. I took out the storage tray and built a small rack that fits on top of the spare and is held on by the big plastic screw that normally holds the tray in place. I'll take picks of the amp and rack after I re-carpet it to match the box. It hits pretty hard. My first rattle came from the third bake light cover but that was an easy fix. The rattle that has me baffled for now is the one in the passanger side roof rail. It has a low metalic hum when the bass hits. I can't hear it from the inside of course but I hate when people have exterior rattles so it really bothers me on my car. I'll figure it out.

nice job ch. Now you'll need to buy plexi-glass and enclose that whole back part of your HHR and you're set!

It's pretty easy to build a box. For what it costs to make your box you can probably find mass produced ones cheaper. It's more fun to design and build your own though. I'm surprised it came out as well as it did because I haven't built a box in at least a year.
