First Post!

Hi guys, I know this is probably a little strange having my first post in the audio forum. But darnit, I need some questions answered cause I have searched on this forum and the other hhr forum and can't seem to find the answers that I need. So hopefully somebody here can help me out. Ok, here goes....I am wanting to install an avic d3 in my 06/maybe 08 SS HHR. What I would like to know is what install kit is everyone using to install it and second what harness is everyone using. And maybe I am a little confused, but the avic comes with a harness that plugs into it....sooooo I assume that the additional harness I would need would be the one that plugs into the factory harness that would normally go into the factory radio. Am I correct so far? Then you would splice those two together, so that way you wouldn't need to splice into the factory wiring....right? So would that harness be the metra gmos-lan-04? Would the install kit be the 99-3305? Would the steering wheel control kit be the pac swi-ps? Sorry for rambling but would like to get this figured out.

I think you are on the right track. The part numbers for what I used are in this thread.
