Harness?

I been looking around for the correct answer for a bit, but can't seem to find it.

I have a 08 "Non- Amped w/ Onstar" and looking to change out my radio. I need a new harness and need the correct harness model number.
Metra, PAC, etc....

I believe I found it for less that $100! Is this the correct one?

according to metras website you need the GMOS-LAN-03. so to answer your question no that is not the right one.

here is the right one from that site

What if I don't want to keep the chimes and lose the OnStar? I think I have only a few months left on that anyway...

it's either the LAN-03, or loose chimes, turn signal click, and onstar.

I'm not even sure there is a regular harness...

I also have an 08 and used the GMS Lan-03. All I really get out of it is the door chimes and Onstar. (I will not renew the Onstar after it expires.)

If you want the blinker chirp you also need to install a relay to one of the wires coming out of the LAN-03. You can get the relay from your local parts store for about $5. I bought the relay but found I have no problems with not hearing the blinker chirp, so I didn't ever put it on.

The long and short is I don't think for me at least that it's worth the money to get the LAN-03

I'm fixing to install the lan-03 also, installing a 7" touch screen, anyways.. how loud is the door chime and turn signal (if the relay is hooked up)

The door chimes volume can be adjusted by an screw on the Lan-03. Anything from barley hearing it to driving you nuts loud. The relay is just a clicking sound that is about the same as your standard blinker noise. (clicking comes from the relay)

if you are not worried about ne thing then hardwiring to the stock wiring would do the trick. voila no money spent on a harness.

I think that is what I may do... And be done with it! I don't need the blinker chimes. Atleast nothing else is ran through the radio. Such as Locks, Remote Start, etc!
