yeah, but with a 7" and a double din.

How did they wire up the audio out?

I want to put one in my SS eventually, but with the mobo and case under the seat

he just went audio out from the onboard soundcard to the amps. (3.5mm to RCA)

i was surprised they fit it behind the dash like that. he said it wasn't very hard to do at all.

I did put a carputer in my 2007 HHR.

Used a laptop that sat in the area just above the spare tire. Put in a 7" Xenarc touch screen where the Radio Head Unit was. I have the steering wheel controls working, and HD Radio module for FM / AM / HD radio too.

I use Centrafuse with Garmin Mobile PC as the Navigation.

Let me know if you have started this project or are still thinking about it.

What I've found is super easy, works amazing, and looks great is using a tablet. Easiest install possible. The dash cubby perfectly holds my 7 inch galaxy tab, which has a ton of storage space for media and apps, bluetooth, gps, wifi, and 3g capability all built in. Oh and portability for security. When I get in the car I open the cubby, stick the tab in there, plug it into the aux jack and away I go, and leaving the car is as easy as reversing the steps, and there is nothing left behind to entice a thief. I even made a wallpaper for it so it looks good in the car. Just wish I could have found a png of the actual HHR badge to use. Later on I'll post a picture of what it looks like in the car.
