Welcome to the site.
I do not have very much info on aftermarket radio installs. I'm sure that others will chime in here soon. In the mean time You can find a lot of info using the search box at the top of the page.

A) did you look at the directions that came with the unit? Or gone to the manufacturers website?
B) did you use the SEARCH box at the top of this page? Use "radio install".
This particular problem has been covered many times, as recently as this week.

that makes me feel very welcome here, thanks donbrew
so not the fuse box under the hood? and run the red wire through the firewall? would that work? assuming i can find a fuse that is switched power in that fuse box
I am about to try to run the red through the fuse box and through firewall i think, and now that i'm thinking i could connect the yellow directly to battery if it was not in the trunk. so i will have to find a wire that is constant power and splice the yellow into that?
does that make sense?
I really appreciate you taking the time to help me and not just sending me off to another website. THANK YOU!
No No No, not the one under the hood, under the front of the center console like I first said. From the pass side, remove the fuse panel cover, should see all of the fuses and a couple of wiring harnesses.

Green wire should be hot when key is on only, tap into that.
