How much would you spend?
If you were going to put a stereo system in your car how much would you be willing to spend on it for new speakers and parts ?
$100-200
$200- 400
$300 - 500
$500+ - 750?
I'm looking for a component system of two 6" speakers, two tweeters and crossovers, door chime keep interface, head-unit mount, wire kits. etc...
I'm also trying to find and research in to custom fiberglass to tub the inner rear hatch of my car for the Sub and Amp's but need help and ideas.......
And to ideas on relocating the car battery.
Any help, input and ideas is greatly appreciated.

yea im talking average, everyday people that can think i guess low-budget, i could never ever afford the best of best , and put as much money in to the stereo as to the car cost, i just want something alot better than factory and good hi & lo's and backed up Bass when i can, but not loose storage space so the car is fully functional ....

Since I have a tin ear and use the cars audio system as background noise and I'm cheap I'd spend as little as possible. I am replacing two speakers in another car and I want to replace that car's radio, I'm looking for a cheap one am-fm/cd.

just some suggestions
from my past experience. i do all my own work (cheaper and maybe more quality) everyone cannot. i wuz shopping for speakers in the past , once for my home theater-27 tv at that time - 50 plasma now and i am looking 4 sum surrounds for it. a few times for different vehicles. i went to different stores and just listened to a lot of different speakers not caring about the price or brand. i learned that price and brand does not mean anything and ended up getting some good results. although i believe jbls will always sound good i may find something less expensive that is just as good. i have blown up boze while the klhs were still goin strong. you can save space by putting some of your audio stuff in the rear thing on top of the spare , a few people on here have done it. also if you like to crank it way up - like i used to - only ocasionally now - remember expensive speakers CAN be blown as well as the less expensive ones.

You didn't say what you were replacing... If I had to replace my premium sound system, I would guess that it would be in access of the $1,000 top price you listed to get noticeably better sound. Replacing the stock low-end system might cost a bit less to get better sound.
