Inexpensive head unit that will do a decent job

Okay,

Planning on getting an affordable head unit (affordable meaning between $100-$200) that will do a decent job. I dont need anything fancy, just a single din HU that plays cd/mp3 and has aux input and capable of running two amps. Appreciate any input.

Here's my vote for under $200:

Pioneer DEH-P5800M (click for specs)

IMO it will be hard to beat the sound of this HU under 2 bills.

specs look pretty good. I probably would like to find a head unit with a mute option (so I can use it with my bluetooth phone car kit) and a way to use the existing radio controls on my steering wheel.

Pioneer makes a kit so you can keep your steering wheel controls HERE.

The pioneer doesn't have HD Radio or an aux input. Go with this one...LINK

Has everything except a direct steering wheel hookup. You're going to have to go universal unless you spend more than $200.

That's a really good price for a really great HU! Congrats!

You are going to LOVE the way Pioneer lets you control the door speaker crossovers/highpass freqs and sub levels/slopes/freqs right from the HU.

It's a very adjustable system. I love mine.
