The Personal Audio Link (PAL) provides full functionality of your iPod, allowing you to select artist, album, genre and playlists, as well as listen to audio books and podcasts, using the vehicle's radio controls. $159

Which would be great.....but they issued a "stop sale" on it and are re-designing it as we speak.

There are a bunch of other companies out there that make the same thing for roughly the same price. Check out crutchfield.com

Yeah, but I already paid for/had installed the GM PAL, and now I'm sitting and waiting for the replacement.

Ipod

I have tried to upload pics of my Hardon Karmen Drive and play, ain't workin' sorry! But, it has a cool screen much like sirius radio, etc., It has a sweet little knob that mounts next to the gear shift..controls just like your Ipod but with the screen mounted right above the center compartment next to the windshield, you can keep your eyes on the road. It is a about $100. The Ipod sits in the center compartment above the radio, noone sees it, it charges the Ipod...pretty cool, really. I Have two Ipods running in my car at all times, I also have an Alpine stereo that plugs into another Ipod, and all the info shows up on the screen of the radio..that is really the way to go, but if you don't want to switch out the stock stereo, check out the Drive & Play. The base mount is about $30, and the iPod mount varies on the model/type you choose. I don't have a picture, but mine mounts just to the right of the radio, and is rock solid. The swivel mount allows the passenger to see the iPod as well. Love it.
PDX, let us know how the proclip works out for you. I checked the website and that mount looks great. Let me know how it fits. It says mount is made for HHR.

I used the Griffen tuneflex (I have the 30 gig video) it doesn't get in the way of any controls. It works well but is a temporary fix until I can get the GM pal or something similar.

The Proclip is great. Installed in about 5 minutes, has not budged since it was installed. A perfect fit. It even has a really nice felt liner that does not scratch my iPod. Could not be happier... OK, maybe if it was free.

I am planning on modifying the box on the dash and having my IPod in the box, out of sight and have the connection made behing the dash instead of the front, I hate cords and cables...

I find on sunny days stuff in that box gets quite hot.
